The life and times of the Godfrey ten.

Who are we?

We are the Godfrey’s formerly of Soldotna Alaska. There are a total of 10 of us. Six of our kids are adopted, one the old-fashioned way, and one is the process of becoming adopted. I was a Lt. with the Alaska Wildlife Troopers and Tracy stays home with the kids and home schools them. Her class is as big as some classes in the villages around Alaska. Recently we have relocated to Playa Flamingo in Costa Rica. We write this blog for our friends and family and for anyone that is interested in what it is like to have 8 kids, live in Alaska, live in Costa Rica, quit your job and move out of the country and becoming an ex-pat. We appreciate comments and hope you enjoy the blog.

Laura told me to look you up – what a great site. Yes, this is your cousin from Wisconsin (3rd, 4th ?) I have been keeping up on your news and I am praying for you. I am so glad I was able to see Uncle Jerry the month before he died and loved visiting with your Mom. You have a gift for writing, I will keep checking for updates. Love to your family –

    Hi Godfreys 10,
You cannot know how happy I am to have found this site, I really dont know where to start, but…hi Tracy, its Gale from Iowa. Glenn, I am so happy the Lord brought you into Tracy’s life! I cannot believe what a family you all have made. Glen, I cant wait to meet you someday, from the little bit I have read on here, I think maybe we are brothers!!!
Man, I will have to explain more, I know, but, I just had to write something down, not everyone has your gift to write, heck, I hope Tracy will remember me, we dated a little bit before ya’ll met, I just have been in a rollercoaster ride for the past day, after googling trooper Godsley last night on a whim, before an episode of Alaska State Troopers…I had talked to Tracy’s dad and brother about 20 years ago I suppose, and he filled me in on you, and Tracy, and all the kids, but…I tell ya, I am still in a little bit of a daze by all this sudden info, haha, I will explain all later, but if you want to check me out for security reasons, I think I am the only Gale Battles on fb, in the entire globe, so feel free to look into it, I am thankfull Tracy found a superb husband and father, cant wait to read more of your tra and glen make 10!
    Bye, Gale

    • Gale, it’s good to hear from you and thanks for all the kind words. Of course Tracy remembers you and although we never met, I knew about you too. She told me about you years ago. I have slacked off the blog quite a bit over the last few years, but I am going to try to write at least once a month for this year, we shall see. I showed Tracy you comments and she was very surprised to hear from you, but pleased. If you googled my name you probably read about my dad quite a bit, I apologize as that was a tragic part of our life, but our life none the less. Hope you and yours have very Merry Christmas and I am sure we will hear from you again soon. G
