The life and times of the Godfrey ten.

Transitions

It seems that I often write about transitional events, perhaps that is because we are in a constant state of transition. Although things often seem to be the same, the same job, the same house, the same schools, they are always changing. Everyday we get older, everyday we are changing, transitioning to a new phase of life. Many of the events that I have written about in the past mark these transitions, but most of them are slow, almost barely perceptible. Intertwined with the large, earth-shaking transitions that we all walk through. In fact if we think about it, our whole time here on earth is nothing but a transition, a transition to our eternal life, where I have a feeling those transitions will slow down a bit.

Why I am writing about transitions once again? Well we are embarking on another one. For those of you that have not heard, our time in Costa Rica has come to an end. Due to many circumstances and transitions, we are transitioning to a new phase of life. Where? I know not yet. When? Soon. We are stressed, we are excited and we are nervous, but we will trust that we will end up where God wants us to be, once again. Our time here in Costa Rica has been invaluable. It has enriched our lives, changed our perspectives, challenged us, and grown us as a family. Far more educational than a college, far more exciting than a theme park, and far more life changing than pretty much anything, other than salvation. We have loved it here, the people, the weather, the water, the lifestyle, the missions all of it has been amazing. Even the great many challenges of changing our lifestyle from the American way to the pura vida way, has been trying and awesome. We would do it again if given the chance, and we will.

So stay tuned, for we do not yet know where we will end up, but as soon as we find out we will let you know, and I bet there will be a great many new experiences, thoughts and transitions for us to share.

  2. Love the freedom in Christ through which you write. By keeping your eyes on the prize I have no doubt you’ll end up exactly (and on time) for that next “assignment.” OOO
