The clothes off my back, his back and her back and his…..
I thought I would pontificate on another big family topic: Laundry, yes dirty laundry. How much laundry does a “normal” family use in a week? I do not know. I do know that an abnormal family, such as mine, uses a little more than average, maybe even more than an average aircraft carrier crew, or so it seems at times. For instance, today Tra did 5 loads and still had 3-4 to go. Granted, she had missed a couple days due to traveling etc., but still, that my friends is a lot of dirty laundry. Imagine between mom and dad’s work out clothes, Alli, Livy, and Kassie’s dance clothes, Ben putting clean clothes in the dirty laundry basket (because apparently it is much easier than putting them in your drawer or hanging them up) and Jo changing outfits thirty times a day, oh yeh, I forgot about the sheets and blankets from 7 different beds, some with pee on them ( cuz it is much easier than having to get up, not that I would know) you get several loads a day. So if you miss one day, just one day it is like compound interest, it just keeps growing.
We have a nice washer and dryer, the biggest we could find, but that is not the main problem. The main problem is the folding. Folding and putting away. I am not a good folder, except with socks. I can fold a pair of socks like nobodies business. And it really is none of your business so I don’t know why I am talking about it. But folding is long and tedious process as many of you parents know. That is where the bottleneck occurs. Many think it is they dryer because it takes about twice as long as the washer. However that is just a crazy theory! It is definitely the folding!
Now, if you have taken the time to read this far, you must either be really really bored, or really into laundry. I guess their could be worse things. So for those of you really into laundry, this short video clip is for you enjoy.
